Visit Mobile is looking for a sharp, enthusiastic, connected and experienced convention sales professional to lead our team of seasoned convention sales and services managers in a strategic effort to book more conventions, generate more leads and increase room nights. With a direct focus on market segments such as education, association, aerospace, corporate, medical, sport, cultural and multi-cultural organizations, Visit Mobile is coming off two straight years of record-breaking summers, with record-setting convention attendance, increased visitor numbers, occupancy and ADR growth and a continued uptick in lodging tax. Working closely with industry stakeholders - hotels, convention center, meeting facilities, airport and entertainment/activities – the Vice President of Convention Sales will set the tone and raise the bar for Visit Mobile’s next phase of development and growth in the meetings and convention space.

Bachelors Degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics or Marketing, and a minimum of five years experience in convention and visitor promotion, business promotion or travel related activities requiring sales and marketing skills. Proven skills and results with meeting with clients, media, hospitality industry, city officials, board of directors, and dealing in house with co-workers. Ability to carry out job requirement without supervision. Travel and flexible hours are required.
